This race was declared a non-championship race and illegal by FISA after
the drivers refused to pay the fines from the Zolder dispute. The Ferrari,
Renault and Alfa Romeo teams boycotted the race, and Eliseo Salazar and
Brian Henton didn't show up.
On the racing side, only eight drivers were classified and Emilio retired on
the 35th lap after a accident. |
